Rutin, also known as rutin and vitamin P, with molecular formula of c27h30o16, is a natural flavonoid glycoside, which belongs to flavonol glycosomes widely existing in plants. The two glycosomes are glucose and rhamnose. The appearance is light yellow or light green crystalline powder. It can be dissolved in pyridine, formyl and alkaline solution, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone and ethyl acetate, and almost insoluble in chloroform, ether, benzene, carbon disulfide and petroleum ether. It has the effects of anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, anti allergy and anti-virus.
Purpose
1. It can be used as edible Antioxidant and nutritional enhancer.

Pharmacological Action
Anti free radical effect
Rutin is a flavonoid compound and a strong oxidant for scavenging free radicals. It can terminate the chain reaction of free radicals, inhibit the peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids on biofilm, remove lipid peroxidation products, and protect the integrity of biofilm and subcellular structure. It plays an important role in the body.
Anti lipid peroxidation
Rutin can resist the decline of antioxidant capacity caused by the decline of endogenous estrogen and has antioxidant effect. High density lipoprotein (HDL) has anti atherosclerotic effect.
Antagonism of platelet activating factor
Rutin can antagonize the specific binding between PAF and rabbit platelet membrane receptor in a concentration dependent manner, and inhibit PAF mediated platelet adhesion and the increase of free Ca2 + concentration in PMNs, indicating that the mechanism of rutin's anti PAF action is to block the response induced by PAF by inhibiting the activation of PAF receptor, so as to protect cardiovascular system.
Anti acute pancreatitis
Rutin can effectively prevent hypocalcemia and reduce the concentration of Ca2 + in pancreatic tissue.
Rutin can effectively prevent the occurrence of hypocalcemia in AP rats, which may reduce the pathophysiological damage to AP by preventing Ca2 + influx and reducing Ca2 + overload in pancreatic tissue cells.
